Um prazer não deve nunca ser transformado num dever.
Infelizmente a manutenção deste Daily Blog estava a tornar-se mais um dever do que um prazer o que me levou a tomar a decisão de o fechar.
Agradeço a todos os leitores que me visitaram durante o curto tempo de vida deste lugar.

Unhappily the maintenance of this Daily Blog was becoming more a duty then a pleasure so I had to take the decision of closing it.

A Torre do Relógio da Figueira da Foz, conhecida como a Torre do Relógio S. Julião, está situada à beira-mar sendo por isso a praia em frente conhecida como Praia do Relógio. Esta torre de relógio foi fundada em 1950-1953, e é a primeira torre de relógio portuguesa de arte contemporânea. Esta torre tem cerca de 14,5 m de altura.

The Tower of the Clock of Figueira da Foz, known as Tower of Clock S. Julião, is situated at seaside being therefore the beach in front known as Beach of the Clock. This tower of clock was established in 1950-1953, and it is the first portuguese tower of clock of contemporary art. This tower has about 14,5 m of height.

A Fortaleza de Buarcos localiza-se na povoação e Freguesia de Buarcos, Concelho de Figueira da Foz, Distrito de Coimbra, em Portugal.
Integrava, juntamente com o Fortim de Palheiros e o Forte de Santa Catarina na Figueira da Foz, o sistema defensivo deste trecho da costa, particularmente o antigo porto marítimo da povoação.
Acredita-se que a sua construção se tenha iniciado no reinado de D. João I (1385-1433), ou mais propriamente no de D. Manuel I (1495-1521), para refrear os assaltos dos Ingleses, Holandeses e piratas do Norte d'África.
Apenas resta um troço da muralha, paralelo à marginal da praia de Buarcos.

The Fortification of Buarcos is situated in the civil parish of Buarcos, municipality of Figueira da Foz, District of Coimbra, in Portugal.
It integrated, together with Fortim de Palheiros and Fort of Santa Catarina in Figueira da Foz, the defensive system of this coast, particularly the old maritime port of this locality.
Almost certainly its construction has initiated in the reign of D. João I (1385-1433), or more properly in the one of D. Manuel I (1495-1521), to shelter from the assaults of the English, Dutches e pirates of the North of Africa.
It only remains a chunk of the wall, parallel to the avenue of beach of Buarcos.

I took off this photo from the plaza where it is the Sun Clock. I like this building but I think that it does not belong to what is considered the historical heritage of Figueira da Foz.

It is a traditional fishing village that has grown also as a noted beach resort due to the calm waters of its sea, which is protected by the Boa Viagem small mountain range (Serra da Boa Viagem). Many of its inhabitants still work in the fishing industry but tourism is also an important activity. It has many fish restaurants and bars with view over the bay and the beach."
